Bascome ready to rumble
Nikki Bascome is busy stepping up his preparations for his super lightweight bout against Filipino Alvin Lagumbay at the Victualling Yard in Dockyard on June 29.
It will be Bascome’s first outing since winning the IBA International Welterweight Championship by defeating Mexican David Martínez via unanimous decision at the Fairmont Southampton last November.
The 28-year-old has decided to vacate his strap to free him up to pursue fights at super lightweight.
Bascome has been sparring Bermudian left-handers Andre Lambe and Tyler Christopher at Forty Rego’s Gym in Warwick, where he is conducting his entire eight-week training camp.
Tickets cost $65 for general admission bleachers, $75 for preferred seating and $150 for V.I.P seating. The event also features a family fun zone from 2pm to 10pm, costing $25 for children under 15..
