Locals pass Association of Boxing Comissions judges course
Eight Bermuda Boxing Commission members have successfully completed a judges course conducted on island last month.
Anthony Mouchette, Zenji Ingham, Nelson Bascome Jr, Trey Simons, Monique Heyliger, Shaun Richards, Charles Ndiaye and Dirk Evelyn all passed the course, held under the direction of Association of Boxing Commissions judge’s instructor Steven Weisfeld, who was highly impressed to see all of the participants pass with high grades.
Weisfeld also praised the BBC for their professional approach and execution of their duties, and is now looking forward to developing a great relationship with the local organisation.
Acting Commissioner Gladwin “Roots” Philips and Mouchette have also been commended in successfully preparing the participants for the important certification.
The BBC are now in the final stages of finalising additional certification programmes for judges, referees and inspectors with the ABC for those persons who unavailable to participate in last month’s course.
Nolette Webb, who serves on the BBC’s executive, is also scheduled to attend the ABC’s annual conference this month, where she will be meeting with president Mike Mazzulli to finalise Bermuda’s membership.
Webb served as Bermuda’s manager at last month’s World Kickboxing and Karate Association World Championships in Bali, Indonesia, where she doubled up at the event as a Pan American certified kickboxing judge.
