The four recipients of Walkers (Bermuda) Limited’s 2022 scholarships and bursary awards are interning with the law firm this summer.

The firm announced that Jasmin Brown will receive Walkers' 2022 scholarship in the sum of $20,000.

A statement said: “Starting in September, Jasmine will undertake her law degree at the University of Kent.

“Jasmin presented as articulate, thoughtful and intelligent. Her unique experiences in international culture and interest in combating social injustice made her a stand out candidate.

“Whilst not a new recipient, Walkers will continue to sponsor McKenzie-Kohl Tuckett, Walkers' 2021 scholarship recipient, throughout the remainder of her studies at the University of Bristol with an annual award of $25,000.

“McKenzie-Kohl recently completed her second internship with the firm earlier in the summer.

“Sarah Medeiros and Kalshae Matthews are the recipients of the 2022 bursary awards and will each receive $7,500.

Kalshae Matthews completed her Law degree in May 2022 and is planning to pursue a Master's degree in Law along with the Legal Practice Course later in 2022.

In 2021, Kalshae shadowed the Crown Counsel at the Bermuda Department of Public Prosecution where she gained valuable courtroom insight and experience.

Sarah Medeiros will soon start her law degree in the UK and subsequently intends to take the Solicitors Qualifying Exam or the Legal Practice course. Her objective is to return to Bermuda to begin her pupillage following the successful completion of her studies.

Most recently, Sarah has been interning with Ocorian in Bermuda.“
