The Bermuda Business Development Agency recently hosted a series of round-table discussions in London, highlighting the island as a business destination.

A BDA spokeswoman said the wealth and technology round tables, held on February 27, were intended to build on relationships established during the body’s London visit last November.

Meanwhile, David Parker, BDA head of business development, said: “We are not just introducing Bermuda to new audiences, we are strengthening relationships with those who have already recognised the value of our jurisdiction.

“Following our November meetings, we secured deeper engagement with key stakeholders in February. Institutions that were already familiar with Bermuda are now looking to grow their global presence and work more closely with us.

“This is exactly how we want to build relationships — deliberately, strategically and with long-term impact."

The BDA spokeswoman said the discussions explored Bermuda’s sophisticated regulatory environment, financial solutions and its reputation as a jurisdiction for global business.

Kendaree Burgess, BDA managing director, said: “Bermuda’s appeal to wealth managers and global investors is clear: a well-regulated financial centre with world-class insurance and asset protection capabilities, an efficient regulatory framework and a business-friendly environment.

“In an era where certainty and security are top priorities for high-net-worth individuals, Bermuda stands out as a jurisdiction that offers both discretion and stability.”

The discussions also reinforced Bermuda’s position as a hub for technology firms such as digital finance and insurtech companies looking for a jurisdiction that combines strong regulatory oversight with the flexibility needed for innovation.

The spokeswoman said the BDA plans to return to London in June and September to further its outreach to financial institutions, investors and technology leaders.

Ms Burgess added: “The BDA remains committed to sustained engagement in key financial hubs, ensuring that Bermuda is at the forefront of global discussions on wealth management, fintech and insurance”.
