Tawanna Tannock elected president of Hydra Insurance

Tawana Tannock, managing director of Skuld Mutual Protection and Indemnity Association (Bermuda) Ltd, has been elected as president of the board of directors of Hydra Insurance Company Limited, the captive reinsurance company for the 12 Clubs comprising the International Group of P&I Clubs.

Ms Tannock, a Bermudian lawyer, has been vice-president of the board of Hydra since spring 2022 and chairwoman of the audit committee since 2019.

A company statement said: “Her election to the role of president of the board is a great recognition of her work on the Hydra board and we wish her continued success in her new role.”

The Skuld group is a protection and indemnity club that provides marine insurance products.

A Hydra statement said: “The International Group of P&I Clubs’ fundamental purpose remains preserving the group’s pooling and reinsurance arrangements, which in turn enables the clubs to provide the exceptional and comprehensive cover required by shipowners.”
