Chamber to host seminar on mental resilience
Research on the mind, including stress management and building mental resilience, is the topic of an online presentation this month at the Bermuda Chamber of Commerce.
The organisation will host Lisa Bélanger, a researcher at the University of Calgary in Canada, and an instructor at the University of Alberta’s executive education programme.
The talk is being given in honour of international women’s day.
Dr Bélanger will deliver “The Science of Daily Resilience” on March 16 with tips on building happiness, productivity and wellbeing.
She holds a doctorate in behavioural medicine, and is chief executive of ConsciousWorks, a firm billed as helping individuals and organisations to cultivate mental health.
Dr Bélanger holds an executive master of business administration and is a certified exercise physiologist.
Her talk from 9am to 10.30am will cover “tools and strategies for staying strong and bouncing back”.
Danielle Riviere, chief executive at the chamber, said Dr Bélanger’s expertise was “unparalleled” and would prove "invaluable to anyone looking to improve their ability to handle stress“.
She added that International Women's Day, marked tomorrow, was an occasion to celebrate the Chamber’s female members.
“From entrepreneurs and business owners to executives and professionals, women are making a significant impact on Bermuda's economy and society as a whole.
“We're proud to be part of a community that recognises and values their contributions, and hope that this event will be of value to them."
Offered via Teams, the talk will be followed by a question-and-answer session.
Tickets for the event are available through the Bermuda Chamber of Commerce website.
Single tickets are $50 for members and $75 for non-members, while watch party tickets for $500 for members and $750 for non-members.
