Pinky’s, the Middle Road, Devonshire drive-through restaurant, just opened in February after extended delays, has closed again for upgrades, the company said.

A statement said the restaurant will commence a series of technical and mechanical upgrades so that it can be ready for the upcoming busy season.

“We had attempted to perform the upgrades as we go, but it was inevitable that customer service would have been interrupted multiple times over a longer period of time”, said spokesperson Kristina Burrows. “We have instead decided to do all the required work during one intensive period so that we are done for May.”

Technical upgrades will impact building, equipment and computer systems including the menu boards.

The statement clarified: “We anticipate a short period to undertake the activity. When we reopen in May, customers can look forward to an expanded menu and services including an order-ahead restaurant menu, opening of the takeout area with coffee shop and buffet.”
