Bermudian Daniel Rance has been promoted to the role of chief underwriting officer at Liberty Mutual Bermuda.

Mr Rance will be responsible for driving underwriting strategy across all Bermuda lines and enhancing broker engagement in Bermuda and across Liberty Mutual to profitably grow business.

He started at the company in 2011 as a catastrophe risk modeller and transitioned into underwriting a year later. He most recently led the company’s Bermuda Financial Lines unit.

Steve Horton, the president of Liberty Mutual Bermuda, said: “I know Dan will excel in his new role, managing our broad product portfolios successfully. The Bermuda team remains focused on building upon our existing capabilities and products in Liberty Mutual Bermuda.”
