Charity donates hampers to families in need
An international children’s charity has donated hampers to 22 families in need.
The families, about 97 people altogether, received cleaning products, masks and gift cards from grocery stores and pharmacies from the Continental Society of Bermuda.
Tracy Packwood, the Society’s chairwoman, said: “We understand that the Covid-19 pandemic has created hardships for some families.
“We felt compelled to try and ease the stress for families with a few essential items.
“The families we support often forgo the purchase of cleaning and personal products to stretch their food budget.”
The Continental Society is a charitable group based in the United States that offers financial support to children and families in need.
Their local branch has been on island for 50 years and supports Bermudian children by providing for their health, education, employment and recreation.
The Continental Society’s goal is to “create environments within our communities that empower children to have access to quality and appropriate opportunities to reach their optimal potential”.
