A 35-year-old Smith’s man has died after a crash – the island’s eighth road death of this year, police said last night.

A spokesman said the victim succumbed to his injuries in the intensive care unit of King Edward VII Memorial Hospital late this afternoon after a three-vehicle crash on Middle Road in Devonshire at 10.50am today.

The man was one of two motorcycle riders involved in a collision with a car near the junction with Mayflower Drive.

The spokesman said the condition of the second rider was unknown.

The driver of the car was not hurt.

The Roads Policing Unit is investigating, and any witnesses are urged to call 247-1788 or 211.
