Charity looks to the future with appointment of two alumni
A skills development charity for young people has named two alumni as its assistant directors.
Seon Tatem and McKenzie-Kohl Tuckett have joined the board of Future Leaders Bermuda after showing “their dedication and commitment to the organisation’s objectives and values since completing the programme”.
Mr Tatem completed the organisation’s Future Leader’s Summer Induction Programme in 2017 when the organisation was first founded.
Ms Tuckett, who was a school student at the time, completed the programme the following year.
Ryan Robinson Perinchief, the founder and director of Future Leaders Bermuda, said he was “thrilled” to welcome the pair to their new positions.
He added: “Their dedication has been evident from the time they joined the Future Leaders Programme as students, and their youthful energy and leadership will be instrumental in furthering our vision to empower the next generation of leaders and change-makers in Bermuda and the world.
“We look forward to the impact they will continue to have on the organisation and the community with their heightened responsibilities.”
Future Leaders Bermuda was established to offer young people opportunities to develop their professional experience and leadership skills.
The group utilises summer internships and monthly mentorship sessions to help empower school pupils and shape them into future industry and political leaders.
Mr Tatem and Ms Tuckett will be tasked with leading the Future Leaders Summit Induction Programme, as well as the development and instalment of new opportunities and initiatives.
A spokeswoman for Future Leaders Bermuda said that Mr Tatem and Ms Kohl’s appointments were “a testament to the vision of the summer programme, and a reflection of the Future Leaders team’s commitment to supporting Bermuda’s next generation of leaders”.
She added: “Their passion for youth empowerment, the community and their commitment to social justice embody the mission of Future Leaders Bermuda, and they have consistently returned since completing the programme to assist with various Future Leaders activities.”
Anyone interested in signing up for this year’s Summer Induction Programme can join the Future Leaders Bermuda’s mailing list on their website.
