Warwick man banned for impaired driving

A 21-year-old Warwick man was banned from the roads for one year after he was caught driving while impaired.Meshael Simons pleaded guilty in Magistrates’ Court to the September 18 offence.Police on patrol on South Road near the Southampton Rangers Club around 1am saw a grey Suzuki enter the road at high speed, travelling east.Police followed the car and saw it swerving over the centre line.After he was pulled over, Simons admitted to drinking earlier in the evening, and was arrested. He provided a blood sample which showed 125 milligrams of alcohol per 100 millilitres of blood. The legal limit is 80 milligrams of alcohol.Senior Magistrate Archibald Warner disqualified Simons from driving for 12 months and ordered him to pay a $1,000 fine.
