Men face stolen goods charges
Two men were charged in Magistrates’ Court yesterday with receiving goods stolen.Jamel Nesbitt, 25, pleaded guilty to a charge of dishonestly receiving stolen goods, but his co accused, 34-year-old Paco Fubler, pleaded not guilty.According to Crown counsel Carrington Mahoney, $10,645 of electronics, jewellery, cash and alcohol were stolen from a Lynwood Drive, Hamilton Parish home between 8.10am and 5.10pm on February 8.Police arrested Nesbitt after a number of items stolen from the home, including a satellite radio, two iPods and three bottles of champagne, were found on his person, in his car and in his home.During an interview with police, Nesbitt said that he had been driving on Radnor Road when he saw a nervous looking man with two bags of items, which he bought for $300.Senior Magistrate Archibald Warner ordered Nesbitt remanded in custody until March 31 so that a social inquiry report can be carried out before sentencing.Mr Fubler was also held in remand, and is expected to return to Magistrates’ Court later this month for the case to be mentioned.lUseful Websites: www.bps.bm.
