Postal workers deny drugs plot charges in court

Three post office workers appeared in Magistrates’ Court yesterday charged with being involved in a plot to bring drugs to the Island.Hopde Barrows, 31, from St George’s, Michaelia Selvin, 28, from Pembroke and Anthony Rogers, 59, from Hamilton Parish, were each charged with conspiring with unknown people between dates unknown and February 19, 2010, to import cannabis.Mr Rogers was also charged with fraudulently retaining a package containing a Fisher Price brand swing set.All three defendants pleaded not guilty to the charges placed against them.Senior Magistrate Archibald Warner adjourned the case until May 25 for trial, releasing the defendants on $10,000 bail and a like surety.lUseful Websites: www.bps.bm
