Teen fined for cursing at Police

A 19-year-old who admitted to cursing at police was fined $800 yesterday in Magistrates’ Court.The court heard that Rejay Johnston, of Rockland Crescent in Warwick, was the pillion passenger of a bike stopped by officers conducting laser spot checks on South Road in Paget last Friday around 11.25pm.Officers cautioned both the rider, along with Johnston, at which point he said: “You guys are always f****** bothering me.”During police dealings with the defendant he put back on his helmet and turned to an officer and yelled: “F*** you.”Senior Magistrate Archibald Warner said Johnston could alternatively serve 80 days in jail.
