The trial of David and Antoinette Bolden on finance company-related theft charges was delayed yesterday because a member of the jury was sick. The couple, from Hamilton Parish, are accused of stealing more than $360,000 from Emerald Capital International in late 2008 and early 2009.They owned the company along with two Canadian businessmen, and are alleged to have misappropriated funds to support their other failing companies, pay debts, and live beyond their means. The Boldens are further accused of theft, money laundering and filing misleading information to the Bermuda Monetary Authority. They deny the allegations and the case is set to resume today, if the juror has recovered.
