The car was travelling west on Palmetto Road. The officers stopped the car. In the course of a search they found a plastic twist containing what appeared to be cannabis under the passenger seat. Both Ascento and the driver were arrested and taken to Hamilton Police Station.Ascento admitted the drugs were his but gave his name as Andre Jones. He also signed his police bail form under that name.He failed to answer bail on January 21.Police spotted Ascento on Front Street on February 18 and arrested him. He told police: “You remembered me.”Ascento apologised to the court.
