Teenage girl reprimanded for losing temper with police
A 17-year-old Warwick girl who lost her temper with police has been reprimanded in Magistrates’ Court.Magistrate Juan Wolffe gave a conditional discharge to Brooke Caisey, of Random Lane, advising her: “Don’t sit in the back of the bus.”The court heard that on June 1, police were called to a bus that had stopped at Crow Lane, Paget, where young passengers were creating an annoyance by smoking.Asked twice by officers to leave the bus, Caisey told police: “Don’t f***ing touch me.” She was arrested outside the bus after cursing at police again.Caisey apologised but told Mr Wolffe: “There were boys acting up on the bus. I was in the back.” She denied being part of the group and said police had gripped her roughly by the arm.Mr Wolffe said: “I hear you, but guess what? If you’d just gotten off the bus, you wouldn’t be before me today.”He granted her a six-month conditional discharge.
