Teenage girl accused of armed robbery
A teenaged girl yesterday appeared in court on two counts of robbery and possession of a knife.Zharrin Simmons, 19, of Deepdale Road, Pembroke, is charged with stealing a BlackBerry worth $300 from Kenneth Williams, and three gold chains and a gold bracelet worth $1,000 from Victoria DeCoute.She faced a further charge of being in possession of a knife with a blade longer than three inches in a public place, Hermitage Road, which is in an increased penalty zone as it is near Elliot Primary School, Devonshire.The incidents are said to have taken place on Saturday, August 27. She was not required to enter a plea as the matter will be dealt with at Supreme Court.Miss Simmons was remanded into custody and ordered to return to court on September 14.On Wednesday, brothers Ezra Marka Ararat and Ezra Ezzard Ararat both appeared in court charged with robbery and knife possession in connection with the same incident.
