A Pembroke man was charged in Magistrates’ Court yesterday with the murder of Denise Evans-Wilkinson.David Wayne DeSilva, 46, was charged with murdering the 45-year-old between a date unknown and April 29, 2011.Her body was discovered in the water off the coast of Mill Point Road in Pembroke.Mr DeSilva appeared in court in custody, wearing dark pants and a blue and white striped shirt.He was not required to enter a plea as the matter must be heard in Supreme Court.Senior Magistrate Archibald Warner remanded Mr DeSilva back into custody until September 22, when the matter is scheduled to return to Magistrates’ Court.Mr DeSilva was represented by defence attorney Mark Pettingill; Susan Mulligan acted as Crown counsel.
