Sandys man charged with touching two girls
A Sandys man charged with sexually touching two girls under the age of ten was yesterday released on bail.The 38-year-old pleaded not guilty on Monday to three counts of touching girls under 14 years of age for a sexual purpose.The man, who cannot be named for legal reasons, also denied two counts of intruding on the privacy of a girl.The five offences were said to have occurred between December 1999 and December 2005.The defendant was remanded into custody on Monday.Bail arguments resumed yesterday morning after which Senior Magistrate Archibald Warner released him on $10,000 bail with a surety. He also ordered that the man avoid contact with the complainants and any witnesses.The defendant must also report to the Hamilton Police Station every Monday. He is scheduled to return to Magistrates’ Court for trial on December 15.
