Four people have appeared in Magistrates’ Court after a police raid on a Warwick residence uncovered a firearm, heroin and cannabis.Lekan Scott, 22, pleaded guilty to possession of a prohibited weapon, namely a semi-automatic air pistol. Scott also admitted to possession of heroin.Luri Scott, 17, admitted to possession of cannabis.Lekan Scott and his father Lindley Scott, 47, denied obstructing a police officer and using threatening behaviour, while Lekan Smith’s girlfriend, Danielle Eatherley, pleaded not guilty to possessing heroin and a prohibited weapon.All charges emanate from the same incident last Wednesday, in Warwick.The court heard from Crown counsel Kirsty-Ann Kiellor that the four were all present in their Ord Valley Lane residence at 5.30am, when police raided the home to execute a search warrant for a firearm.According to Ms Kiellor, officers forced their way through the front door after calling out to the occupants of the house to come out.Lekan and Lindley Scott challenged the police, she said, behaving aggressively and shouting: “You lot don’t know who you are messing with.”The court heard that both were subdued by Taser.A pouch containing plastic bags was found in Lindley Scott’s bedroom, the court heard, containing six “decks” of heroin. Police also discovered a gun.Ms Kiellor said Eatherley was arrested after she told police that both were hers.However, she said, Lekan Scott claimed to be the owner of the air gun, telling police he had found the weapon on the railway trail and had kept it, due to being threatened recently by gang members.Two plastic twists containing plant matter were found in a desk drawer in Luri Scott’s bedroom, the court heard. Scott told police it was for his personal use.In an emotional courtroom scene, Senior Magistrate Archibald Warner adjourned Scott’s sentencing to February 15. Mr Warner also ordered a social inquiry and substance abuse report. Scott was granted bail of $2,000, with one surety.Lindley Scott, who denied obstructing and threatening police, was also granted $2,000 bail, and ordered to return to court for trial on February 1.Ms Eatherley pleaded for bail, saying she wanted to spend Christmas with her children, but she was remanded until her trial on February 1.“I won’t hear bail when you come in here and suck your teeth at me,” Mr Warner told her. “You’re rude.”Family members in the public gallery cried as she was led, shouting, from the courtroom.For possession of a firearm, Lekan Scott was remanded into custody. Mr Warner told him Scott would be sentenced February 1.
