A 32-year-old Sandys man has appeared in Magistrates’ Court on charges of possession of cocaine and cannabis with intent to supply.Ashley Wellman, of Scott’s Hill Road, denied the offences, which are alleged to have occurred in Sandys on December 23, in an increased penalty zone within 300 yards of Somerset Cricket Club.He is accused of carrying an undisclosed amount of cocaine and cannabis, along with plastic bags to be used for distribution.Mr Wellman was without representation at the time of his hearing. Senior Magistrate Archibald Warner granted $10,000 bail, and ordered him to return to court on March 23.
