A 30-year-old Pembroke man who cannot be named for legal reasons denied sexually assaulting his child’s mother in Magistrates’ Court yesterday.The defendant, who elected a trial in the lower court, denied that he unlawfully caused the complainant grievous bodily harm on April 19 and sexually assaulting her on April 20.After hearing that the defendant shares a violent history with the complainant, Senior Magistrate Archibald Warner released him on $10,000 bail with one surety, with orders not to interfere with the victim.The case was set down for trial on August 10.
