A Southampton man is facing charges of drunk driving after being stopped by police around 10pm on Tuesday.A Police spokesman said yesterday: “Police on mobile patrol responded to a report of a car travelling erratically along Middle Road in Southampton.“The officers subsequently stopped the car and approached the driver, a 49-year-old Southampton man, who appeared to be intoxicated.“As a result, the Southampton man was arrested on suspicion of impaired driving. He later failed the alco-analyser test and was detained in police custody as a result.”According to the spokesman, a court appearance is anticipated in due course.
