A 31-year-old Pembroke man was fined $1,600 for cannabis possession.Luis Raposo was stopped as part of a routine police search on April 20 outside the Mid Atlantic Boat Club.Officers found one twist in his pants pocket containing plantlike material later found to be cannabis.They found another twist containing plantlike material in his pocket while he was searched at Hamilton Police Station. This twist was also found to contain cannabis.Raposo, who has previous convictions of a similar nature, pleaded guilty in Magistrates’ Court. He said: “I want to apologise for wasting the court’s time.”He was fined $800 for each twist.
