Landscaper was driving over the alcohol limit
A Sandys man admitted to drunk driving when he appeared in Magistrates’ Court.Prosecutor Susan Mulligan said that on September 16, Antoine Seymour, 35, of Patience Ave, was heading westbound on Middle Road, in Southampton, when police saw him driving a Volkswagen vehicle in an impaired state.When police officers spoke to Seymour he said: “I know I was in town. I’m going to be a man — I had a few drinks.”The officers noticed a strong smell of alcohol and saw that his eyes were glazed and his speech slurred.In court, the defendant pleaded guilty to driving while impaired.Seymour, who is employed as a landscaper, said in court: “I apologise for my actions, your honour.”Senior Magistrate Archibald Warner fined the defendant $800 and also issued him a year-long driving ban for all vehicles.
