A 23-year-old man yesterday admitted sexually assaulting a deaf and mute woman.Timothy Hogue was charged with the offence in Magistrates’ Court.The victim cannot be named for legal reasons.Crown Counsel Cindy Clarke said the incident occurred on October 3 at a Devonshire residence.After the woman fell asleep while watching television, her brother-in-law entered the room to help the woman to bed, and found her pants and underwear on the floor.Hogue was seen standing over her, naked and was using his hands to pull the victim towards his pelvic area, Ms Clarke said.The victim’s brother-in-law yelled for him to get off the woman, he refused to cooperate until he was asked a second time.Acting Magistrate Shade Subair remanded Hogue into custody and adjourned the matter to October 31 for mention, when psychiatric and social inquiry reports are to be completed.
