Fisherman fined for possessing cocaine

A man caught with a twist of cocaine in his pocket has been fined $800 in Magistrates’ Court.

Troy Bremar, 44, of Beacon Hill Lane, Sandys, was searched on July 19 after police spotted a group of men behaving suspiciously in an open area along Cambridge Road, Sandys.

The patrol at 11.10am said the men looked in their direction and “hurriedly looked away”, the court heard.

A search of Bremar uncovered a paper twist in his pocket containing 0.16g of the drug.

Bremar, a fisherman, apologised to the court and was fined by Senior Magistrate Archibald Warner.
