Women accused of machete assault
Two women appeared in Magistrates’ Court this morning accused of assault, after a machete was wielded in a street brawl.
Vanessa Blyden, 22, and Chanel Smith, 25, were not required to enter pleas as the charges are indictable.
Ms Smith, of One Bay Estates Road, St George’s, is accused of unlawfully assaulting and doing bodily harm to Collisha Burch, 26, and Donte Ashley Allen, 21.
She is also accused of having a bladed article — a machete — without lawful reason in a public place, and using the machete to threaten Ms Allen.
Ms Blyden, of Pembroke Park Lane, Pembroke, is accused of unlawfully assaulting Ms Allen, and thereby doing her bodily harm.
Mr Warner set bail at $10,000 with one surety for both women and ordered they wear electronic monitoring devices.
He also imposed a 24-hour curfew for the two.
They will reappear in court on November 27.
