A Pembroke man transferred HIV to his girlfriend without telling her he was HIV positive, it was alleged in Magistrates’ Court this morning.

The man, who cannot be named for legal reasons, denied the charge.

He is accused of transferring the disease to his 20-year-old girlfriend sometime between June 13, 2012, and January 31.

Senior Magistrate Archibald Warner remanded the man into custody until his November 25 trial.
