Double murder accused in court
A 21-year old man appeared in court today accused of murdering two men in Belvin’s Variety in 2013.
Le-Veck Roberts is charged with the premeditated murder of Haile Outerbridge and Rico Furbert on January 23.
Mr Outerbridge and Mr Furbert were shot dead inside the Belvin’s store on Happy Valley Road at around 9pm.
Mr Roberts was also charged with two counts of using a firearm while committing an indictable offence.
He faces charges in connection with an alleged shooting on January 16, 2013. He is acccused of the attempted murder of Zico Majors and using a firearm to commit the offence.
He is also charged with unlawfully discharging a firearm on the same date.
Finally Mr Roberts was charged with taking a motorbike without consent on January 16 and 23.
He did not enter pleas to the charges as they can only be heard in Supreme Court.
Mr Roberts was remanded in custody and will reappear at court on September 16.
