Man fined for swearing at police
A 49-year-old man has been fined $500 and urged to “leave alcohol alone” after an expletive-filled rant at police.
Wyman Minks, of Mount Wyndham Drive, Hamilton Parish, pleaded guilty in Magistrates’ Court this morning to using threatening words towards officers on Saturday.
Prosecutor Cindy Clarke told the court police had been called to Blue Hole Hill “in reference to an annoying male” and found a man lying on the ground near the entrance to Grotto Bay Beach Resort.
When the officers spoke to him, Minks became aggressive and said “f*** you, I’m going to f*** you up, I’ll f****** kill you both”.
Ms Clarke said the officers noted he was intoxicated.
“I’m guilty, I’m sorry,” Minks told Magistrate Khamisi Tokunbo.
“That was the other you speaking?” Mr Tokunbo asked the defendant. “Leave alcohol alone,” he added, fining Minks $500 and saying he would spend 50 days in prison if this penalty was not paid.
