A lawyer has been taken into Police custody after a warrant was issued for his arrest when he failed to appear in Magistrates’ Court this morning.
Kamal Worrell, 34, of Pembroke, was due to appear for mention alongside co-defendants Devon Hewey and Dujon Reid-Anderson.
All three men were charged in Magistrates’ Court on December 9 with perverting the course of justice during a Supreme Court trial.
Six charges were laid against the men, all of which allegedly occurred between July 1 and September 23 of last year.
However, Mr Worrell failed to appear as required and Magistrate Khamisi Tokunbo issued a warrant for his arrest. He is expected to appear in court in due course.
