St George’s man denies Spider-Man theft

A St George’s man was bailed in Magistrates’ Court this morning after he pleaded not guilty to theft and assault.

Lavince Ellis, 42, allegedly stole a red-and-blue Spider-Man bike and a pair of snow boots from a residence in St George’s on December 14.

He is also accused of unlawfully assaulting June Bean and causing her bodily harm on the same day.

Magistrate Khamisi Tokunbo ordered that Mr Ellis have no contact with Ms Bean, except for work-related matters, and set bail at $3,000.

A trial date was set for April 24.

Also in court this morning, a Sandys teenager denied one charge of theft and one charge of receiving stolen goods.

Kinn Crippin, 19, pleaded not guilty to stealing a grey Yamaha outboard engine worth $2,000 on an unknown date between November 6 and December 11.

He also denied receiving eight fishing rods, a cooler, a tackle box and a Yamaha outboard engine, knowing that the items were stolen.

Duayne Pedro, 32, of Sandys, also denied one charge of receiving the same stolen goods between November 5 and 11.

Mr Tokunbo set bail at $3,000 with one like surety.

Both men elected to be tried in Magistrates’ Court and a trial date was set for May 5.
