Man denies assaulting ex-wife
A St George’s man accused of unlawfully assaulting his ex-wife denied the charges when he appeared in Magistrates’ Court today.
Phillip Bailey, 44, allegedly assaulted Jocelyn Bailey in St George’s on October 16 last year.
Magistrate Khamisi Tokunbo granted $3,000 bail on the condition that Mr Bailey have no contact with the complainant.
Mr Bailey elected to be tried in Magistrates’ Court and a trial date was set for May 1.
• Also in court, a 58-year-old Southampton man was accused of contravening a temporary domestic violence protection order.
Ron Magnum allegedly contacted his estranged wife on the phone and entered and remained on her property in Pembroke on Wednesday.
Mr Magnum also denied entering and remaining on the property on Thursday.
Mr Tokunbo granted 5,000 bail and set a trial date for June 12.
