Man denies theft of $2,300 in cash
A Devonshire man denied stealing $2,300 in cash when he appeared in Magistrates’ Court this morning.
Basil Stewart, 56, allegedly stole the money belonging to Llewellyn Carter in Pembroke on February 13.
Magistrate Khamisi Tokunbo granted $3,000 bail on the condition that Mr Stewart have no contact with Mr Carter.
A trial date was set for June 5.
Also in court, a Devonshire man denied stealing a purse and its contents.
Scott Martin, 50, allegedly stole the items, worth $109.61, belonging to Nadine Vickers in Hamilton Parish on April 12.
Mr Tokunbo granted $1,000 bail and set a trial date for June 4.
