Teenager denies sexual exploitation charges
A Pembroke teenager has been given bail after he denied sexually exploiting a girl under the age of 16 while he was in a position of trust.
Appearing in Magistrates’ Court this morning, the 19-year-old pleaded not guilty to having unlawful carnal knowledge of the girl on a date unknown between December 28 last year and February 20.
Neither the defendant nor the victim can be named for legal reasons.
Magistrate Khamisi Tokunbo granted $10,000 bail with a like surety on the condition that the defendant have no contact with the victim.
The defendant elected to be tried in Magistrates’ Court, with a date set for August 6.
