Driver fined for cannabis possession

A truck driver was fined this morning at Magistrates’ Court after admitting possession of cannabis.
Luis Raposo was stopped by police at 2.30am on March 7 as he drove along Crow Lane in Hamilton after officers noticed his vehicle travelling at “high speed”.
Raposo, 34, was searched and police found two plastic twists on him containing 10.8g of cannabis. He told officers that the drug was for his own personal use.
Today at Magistrates’ Court he was fined $1,000 by Magistrate Khamisi Tokunbo.
