Man, 20, bailed for cannabis possession
A 20-year-old Devonshire man has admitted possessing cannabis and drug equipment.
Appearing in Magistrates’ Court this morning, Sam Roberts pleaded guilty to having 1.88 grams of the controlled drug, as well as digital scales and a grinder, in his possession in Devonshire on February 23.
The court heard that at about 9pm, Police were alerted to a disturbance in the Belmer Drive area.
They saw the defendant walking through a field carrying a black trash bag from which they seized digital scales, a grinder and a plastic container containing plant material.
Magistrate Khamisi Tokunbo ordered a social inquiry report, granted Roberts $1,000 bail and adjourned the matter to October 30 for sentencing.
