Man, 28, admits attacking wife’s co-worker

A Devonshire man who attacked his wife’s co-worker was granted bail in Magistrates’ Court this morning.

Janos Lindsay, 28, pleaded guilty to causing a man grievous bodily harm in Paget on August 4.

The court heard that Lindsay approached the man at King Edward VII Memorial Hospital and confronted him about some text messages that he had allegedly sent to his wife.

He told the complainant that he was not carrying any weapons and that they should go to the bathroom.

Prosecutor Nicole Smith said the complainant agreed because he did not want to cause a scene and wanted to clear up the matter.

Once in the bathroom area, Lindsay became aggressive and the complainant feared he would be hit.

Another of the complainant’s co-workers walked in and the complainant asked him to stay as he tried to explain that he was not in a relationship with Lindsay’s wife.

But Lindsay hit him in the head with a closed fist, fracturing his jaw.

The complainant’s co-worker distracted the defendant and the complainant managed to get away and alert security.

The defendant, however, left the hospital and was arrested a couple of days later at LF Wade International Airport.

Magistrate Khamisi Tokunbo ordered a social inquiry report and granted Lindsay $3,000 bail on the condition that he have no contact with the complainant.

The matter was adjourned to November 2 for sentencing.
