A 33-year-old man was this morning accused of committing 15 offences in Southampton, Sandys, Warwick and Pembroke over the course of 19 days.

Appearing in Magistrates’ Court, Jamiko Bean, of no fixed abode, faced charges including robbery, burglary, escaping lawful custody, assaulting police and the aggravated taking of a vehicle without consent.

He was not required to enter a plea because the charges are indictable and must be heard in the Supreme Court.

Mr Bean was charged with committing five burglaries and stealing from residences on North Shore Road, Pembroke, Camp Road, Warwick, Camp Hill, Southampton, Middle Road, Southampton, and Scenic Heights Pass, Southampton, between October 9 and October 13.

Furthermore, he allegedly committed a robbery in Southampton on September 29, burgled a home on Spring Benny Road, Sandys, with intent to steal on October 14 and prowled around another property that day on the same street.

Mr Bean was also charged with assaulting a police officer on October 12, violently resisting arrest and uttering threatening words to a police officer on October 14.

The defendant was then charged with escaping lawful custody on October 16 and taking a motorcycle without consent and riding it dangerously on October 17, as well as trespassing at a Middle Road, Southampton, home.

Magistrate Khamisi Tokunbo remanded Mr Bean into custody and adjourned the matter to October 28.
