Man, 26, banned from roads for two years
A 26-year-old Southampton man who injured a motorcyclist by driving carelessly has been fined $2,000 and banned from the roads for two years.
Appearing in Magistrates’ Court this morning, Jahkeem Watson pleaded guilty to causing grievous bodily harm to Ricky Foggo by driving without due care and attention in St George’s on March 9.
The court heard that Watson turned into the path of the motorcycle, which was heading east on Mullet Bay Road, as he was exiting the Railway Trail.
The cycle struck the rear offside of the car and the rider was thrown into the air. He suffered a broken left elbow and bruised lower back. Both vehicles were damaged.
Magistrate Khamisi Tokunbo handed Watson a $2,000 fine and banned him from driving all vehicles for two years.
