Committee of 25 to stand trial
The Committee of 25 for Handicapped Children has been charged with operating an unregistered organisation that received charitable donations.
Appearing in Magistrates’ Court this morning, chairwoman Nicola O’Leary, entered a not guilty plea on behalf of the organisation.
It is alleged the Committee of 25 illegally operated the Bargain Box in Pembroke for the purpose of receiving public donations for a charitable purpose between July 18, 2013, and October 1, 2015.
Magistrate Khamisi Tokunbo granted the defendant $1,000 bail and adjourned the matter to November 13 for mention.
