A magistrate this morning ordered reports on two teenagers who admitted beating a younger boy in a fight at the Hamilton Bus Terminal.

Adonis Robinson, 18, and Tarik Ebbin, 16, both pleaded guilty to charges of assaulting a 15 year old in an altercation on September 11.

The court heard that a day before the attack Robinson was in a fight with the complainant, who cannot be identified for legal reasons, but the pair were separated by bystanders.

On September 11, the complainant was at the bus terminal when he was confronted by both Robinson and Ebbin. While the complainant attempted to walk away from the pair, the defendants reportedly followed him.

Prosecutor Cindy Clarke said the pair eventually cornered the complainant and began to punch him in the head and face. When the victim fell to the ground the attack continued, with the defendants kicking the teenager.

The defendants fled the area before police arrived, but were arrested later that day on Dundonald Street.

Interviewed by police, both admitted being involved in the attack. Robinson admitted kicking and slapping the teen, while Ebbin said he punched the victim in self-defence.

Magistrate Archibald Warner released both teens on $1,000 bail with a like surety, ordering that they each submit to a social inquiry report.

The defendants are expected to return to the courts next month to be sentenced.
