Man denies cannabis charges
A Hamilton Parish man will stand trial in the new year for possessing cannabis with intent to supply and cultivating cannabis plants.
Appearing in Magistrates’ Court this morning, 40-year-old Antonio Cabral pleaded not guilty to having the drug in Southampton on June 4.
Mr Cabral also denied cultivating ten plants, possessing two grinders and a scale, and having the drug with intent to supply on the same date.
The court heard that a total of 107.84 grams of cannabis were allegedly seized.
Mr Cabral elected to be tried in Magistrates’ Court and magistrate Khamisi Tokunbo granted $10,000 bail with a like surety.
A trial date was set for March 16.
