Pembroke pair deny possessing crack, heroin
A pair of Middletown residents appeared in Magistrates’ Court to deny a series of drug offences this morning.
Malachi Evans, 34, and Jan Soares, 57, both pleaded not guilty to possessing heroin and crack with intent to supply in an incident on May 5 last year.
They further denied having 3.14g of cannabis while in an increased penalty zone and drug equipment, specifically a metal grinder.
The court heard that 43.4g of crack, worth around $13,575, was seized, along with 2.48g of heroin, valued at $9,200.
Magistrate Khamisi Tokunbo released both defendants on $15,000 bail with a like surety. The matter is set to return to the courts for trial on May 10.
