Man, 20, denies St George’s store robbery
A 20-year-old man has denied robbing a St George jewellery store and using an imitation firearm to commit an indictable offence.
Appearing at Supreme Court arraignments on Monday, Kenneth Wade pleaded not guilty to committing both offences at Vera P. Card on June 22.
The matter was adjourned for mention to the next Supreme Court arraignments on September 1. Mr Wade’s bail was amended to $10,000 with a like surety on the conditions that he wear an electronic monitoring device when one becomes available, regularly report to police and avoid all contact with prosecution witnesses.
In another matter, 41-year-old Daymon Simmons admitted possessing cocaine with intent to supply on August 27, 2014. He pleaded not guilty to having cannabis and cannabis resin intended for supply on the same date. He was remanded in custody and the matter was adjourned to August 9.
Sabian Hayward, 33, also appeared in connection with the same matter. However, he did not enter pleas to charges of possessing cocaine and cannabis resin with intent to supply. His next appearance before the courts will be in September.
