Man charged with sex offences
A 58-year-old man has been charged with a series of sex offences — allegedly committed some 30 years ago — against two young boys.
Appearing in Magistrates’ Court this morning, the Southampton man, who cannot be named for legal reasons, faced six charges concerning one boy and a further five concerning a second boy.
The offences against the first boy are said to have taken place between 1979 and 1983, and the offences against the second boy allegedly took place between 1981 and 1986.
The defendant, who was charged with a raft of historic sex offences concerning a third victim last month, was not required to enter a plea because the charges can only be heard at Supreme Court.
He was released on bail with conditions pending his appearance at the March arraignments session in Supreme Court.
