A 37-year-old man has been fined and banned from the roads for a year for refusing to give a breath sample for analysis.

Appearing in Magistrates’ Court, Helio Canto, of no known address, pleaded guilty to the offence that happened in Pembroke on June 2.

The court heard that police officers pursued and stopped Canto after he was seen negotiating a roundabout on St John’s Road in a dangerous manner.

Magistrate Khamisi Tokunbo also handed him an $800 fine.
